Have You Survived Human Trafficking? You’re Not Alone, And Healing Is Possible

If you’ve found your way to this page, I want to speak directly to you, not to a crowd, not to statistics, but to you.

Maybe what happened to you was recent. Maybe it was years ago. But it left a mark that’s hard to describe, and harder to live with. You may be trying to make sense of it all, or just trying to get through the day. And you might be wondering, Can I ever feel safe again? Will this ever stop hurting? Is it too late to heal?

These are questions many survivors of human trafficking ask. And the answer is: Yes, you can heal. No, it’s not too late. And you are not alone.

Human trafficking happens more often than most people realize. It’s estimated that nearly 27.6 million people worldwideare living under forced exploitation right now, according to the U.S. Department of State. And here in Florida, we consistently rank in the top 3 states in the U.S. for reported human trafficking cases. It affects people of all backgrounds, teens, adults, immigrants, U.S. citizens, many of whom never imagined this could happen to them.

But what happens after the escape? That’s a part of the story that doesn’t get told often enough. Many survivors continue to struggle with:

  • PTSD and nightmares

  • Fear of being followed or watched

  • Guilt or shame they can’t explain

  • Trouble trusting people, even those close to them

  • Anxiety and depression

  • Feeling numb, disconnected, or stuck

If any of that feels familiar, I want you to know, it’s not “just you.” These are real, valid responses to trauma. And while you may feel alone in it, you’re not. I’ve worked with survivors just like you, and I’m here to help you take your life back, on your terms, at your pace.

In our therapy sessions, you’ll never be pressured to share more than you’re ready for. This isn’t about revisiting pain, it’s about learning how to live beyond it. We’ll focus on safety, boundaries, emotional regulation, rebuilding trust, and eventually, rediscovering hope.

If you’re not sure where to start, that’s okay. You don’t need to have the words. You just need to take the first step.

I also want to make getting support as easy and accessible as possible. That’s why I offer sliding scale rates for survivors of human trafficking, because healing should never be out of reach.

And one more thing: If you have a short video you’ve recorded or feel ready to share your voice online, YouTube, social media—it can be a powerful step in reclaiming your story. We’re encouraging survivors to find ways to share, educate, and connect with others when they’re ready. If that sounds like something you’d consider, I’d be honored to help support you in that journey too.

Your life is not defined by what was done to you. There’s still time. There’s still hope. And when you’re ready, I’m here.
