Therapy For The Love of You

Therapy for Children, Teens and Young Adults

Growing up is hard, and each stage brings its own pressures. At Therapy For The Love of You, we work with children (ages 6+), teens and young adults, in person in Land O' Lakes and online across Florida for ages 13 and up. Therapy here feels like talking to someone who listens, who gets it, and who meets you at your pace.

Children (ages 6+)

Children often show big feelings through behavior: meltdowns, worries that will not go away, trouble at school, or changes in sleep and mood. We build trust with children and their parents through patience, kindness and empathy, and use play therapy techniques so kids can express what is hard to put into words.

Teens

Being a teen today means pressure from school, friendships, family expectations, identity and social media. If your teen is overwhelmed, anxious, withdrawn or just not themselves, therapy offers a safe place to talk and to learn real tools for emotions and daily stress. We keep sessions relaxed and low-pressure, and we build trust at your teen's pace.

Young adults

College, new jobs and adult responsibilities can feel like a lot at once. If you are in your late teens or twenties and feeling anxious, burned out, lost or stuck, you do not have to figure it all out alone. Together we work toward feeling more grounded, confident and clear about who you are and what you want.

What the first sessions look like

The first few sessions are about getting to know each other. Nobody has to dive into anything heavy right away. We talk about what feels important, what has been going on lately, and what you hope will be different. Sessions are approximately 50 minutes in length. We typically recommend beginning with weekly sessions to establish consistency and support therapeutic progress. However, we understand that therapy needs to fit into your schedule and lifestyle, and we strive to remain flexible in finding a frequency that works best for you. In situations where additional support is clinically indicated, such as during periods of crisis or increased emotional distress, weekly sessions may be necessary to ensure appropriate care, safety, and continuity of treatment.

FAQ

What age do you start working with children?

We welcome clients ages 6 and up.

Will you tell parents everything my teen says?

No. Teens need a safe place to open up, and we follow strict confidentiality guidelines. If something serious puts someone at risk, we will work with you to handle it safely. We encourage healthy family communication, and if your teen wants to include you, we help that happen in a way that feels supportive.

How do I know if my child or teen needs therapy?
If your child is withdrawing, struggling at school, showing big mood swings, or telling you they feel anxious or down, it is worth reaching out. You know your child best, and a free consultation is a good place to ask.

Can sessions be online?
Yes. We offer secure online sessions for clients ages 13+ across Florida as well as in-person sessions in Land O' Lakes for ages 6+.
